I contacted Bear archery and was told that the only limbs for the Bear T/D they are now making are the ones for the Supreme t/d which they will sell seperately for $700 a set!  Wow!!  They are no longer making the regular #1 limbs.  I know there are a couple of bowyers out there that make the #2 and the #3 limbs but does anyone make the #1 limbs, for an afordable price?
It's not what you kill but how you hunt...

Trooper, I can't find anyone making after market #1 limbs. I've looked pretty hard. I see the most recent 3Rivers type for sale fairly regularly in like new condition. What kind of weight are you looking for?        Grant

Robertfishes

RER Bows makes the #2 limbs, maybe you could ask them to start making the #1 size. now that Bear has quit making the black glass ones there is a better market for them..

Trooper

Hey Grant,
I'm looking for 65 to 70#, FF limbs.  I just got a very nice set of 70#ers but they are the green tips which are not FF but they are still excellent limbs. I just like better and feel more comfortable with newer FF compatible limbs.  Thanks,
  Murray

Trooper

Robertfishes, that's a great idea.  Whoever starts making a decent priced #1 limb should do real well. I'll contact them.  Thanks! Murray

I thought Dave Windauer of Silvertip Bows made Bear T/D limbs too.  In fact, I believe there was a set in their ad in the Sponsors Classifieds.

Trooper

Steve O,
Yes, Dave Windauer does make them but he only makes the #3 limbs.  It's the #1 limbs that are the most popular and the hardest to find.
 Thanks,
 Murray

Are they no longer making the regular TD, but only the supreme? Frank

Trooper

Frank,
It is my understanding that they did quit making the regular TD and now are only making the Supreme.  Pretty sad!

Yea, they quit making the standard takedown this year and switched entirely to the supremes.  I'm use Dave or RER will make a form for #1s soon.  There just was much of a need for one in the past since bear was still making them.  Now there will be a demand. dino

Trooper,
They did infact quit making the regular FB T/D's, why, I have no idea but I believe the Supremes were outselling them.
Did you ask if they had any in stock in the #1's in the weight your looking for. I believe I saw a few on the shelf just the other day, I can check for you monday if you like.

Back in the day....lol When I shot Bear T/D's wow has it reall been that long, the best limbs I ever had was a set of Schafer #2's 60#'s they were smooth as silk and shot my 2115's @ an ultra consistant 192fps.

I loath the day I sold that one off. The second best and fastest was a set of Kempf limbs that looked a lot like Widow limbs and @60#'s 2115's shot @207-211fps.

Don't be afraid of the longer limbs an inch on either end dosn't mean squat in the end.

Good luck in your hunt.
Greg

Long as I can pull this bow
Long as I can hike the hills and walk among the trees
I keep on trying
My goals are high but I don't care
The fun is in the getting there, it justifies the end
So try, try again

Trooper actually the green tip limbs are FF safe.Thats future wood overlays and is pretty tough stuff.
Larry has been shooting FF on his set since 1985 and she's still rock solid.I have a set of 55# green tipper that shoot really good also. Those are great shooting limbs.bd

Trooper

Thankds Bowdoc!

Craig, sent you a PM.

Greg, you make a good point, an inch on either end don't matter.  I just don't want to start messing with different length strings.

Great feedback from all you guys!

Thanks!

the factory may be keeping some in stock to cover any warranty issues with recent bow sales.

Thanks Trooper. Frank

PS I just checked the 3-Rivers web(sponsor) & the Supreme is the only one listed except for a left hand riser. Guess the std takedown is gone. FV
