I use a GN quiver and wanted to know how some of you go about taking a couple of judo points with you. The judo's won't fit up in the hood and don't seem to stay put like the broad heads do. Plus I don't like the judo tipped arrows sticking out so much further than the rest of the arrows because I slip a fleece fletching cover over the end when I hunt. I thought about taking a large drill bit and drilling out the two back holes in the hood to fit the judos but thought I would see what someone else has come up with first. I never take my quiver off so I need them to be secure.

Well...I used to just put them in the quiver nock up and snap them in. This puts the fletching at the top though and wouldn't jive with your fletch sock.

This very situation is why I started using a different type of small game/ stump shooting head. The one I use now goes up into my bow quiver just like my broadheads.

Other than sticking the nock end of the arrow in the foam, I don't know what else to suggest.

Have you tried "piggy backing" one on another arrow? They make rubber clips with grippers on each end for that...

OkKeith makes a good suggestion:  If you used a screw in blunt with a tiger claw behind it instead of a Judo,  that might be a solution.  Does it have to be a Judo?

Don't have to be judos, I have some blunts that I carry but they are easier to loose than the judos. I carried the blunts last season but I really like judos and if I can figure out a way to carry them I will. What is a tiger claw?

I always carry a judo nock end in the quiver.  Having the fletching up has never really bothered me.

The washer doodad at the base of the head is a tigerclaw (I think, when I started buying them they were called "Gobbler Stoppers").

I make these heads myself. They are a 125 grain Ace Hex head glue-on (the screw-ins are much shorter and less to my liking) with an alumn. screw-in adapter epoxied in. With the washer doodad, they come out so close to 150 grains (weight of the broad heads I shoot) the difference is negligible.

The length of the head goes up into the hood of my bow quiver and stays very well (something I think the shorter ones don't). The Ace Hex is a great small game/ stump shooting head but can bury in the grass, the washer keeps it from burrowing when I miss (a rare occasion, as I am sure it is with you).

I can make a dozen of these for about the same cost of 3 or 4 judos. Are they as good as judos? For me, yes. Maybe not so much for others.

That is a good setup. The length of the head really make a difference if getting it to fit in the quiver.

I use the G5 SGH.  It fits into the quiver hood just like my 3 blade BH's, because the blade spacing is the same.

That's one reason I no longer use a bow-mounted quiver. I tried putting the nock-end in the hood and found that having the weight of the head down and loose made the arrow vibrate like a rattlesnakes tail (not that loud, just shaking like crazy). I couldn't stand it and now use a back quiver ("dawg ware"/"safari" quiver style) that accomodates any broadhead or blunt.

I use Piggy Backers with my GFA style quiver & have good results. Frank
