How do the aluminum broadhead adapters hold up? I like to shoot the 160 Grizzly heads but need a 200 grain point for my new set-up. That means I need to use a 40 some grain aluminum adapter. Since these are going on my elk arrows I was wondering how they hold up.

I recently contacted some guys that I know have been using them for years.  No one has reported any failures to me.  Keep in mind that I asked in reference to whitetail and wild turkey, so maybe someone with some elk experience will chime in.  I'll have them in my snuffers this year...Mike

11/32" alum adapters run about 42 grains.  i've used 'em quite a bit, epoxied to judos for stumpin' - no problems at all.

Been using them for over 25 years...not many problems...maybe a few bent posts over all those years.

Main thing is to make sure they bhead is on tight....and, if you are going to hunt elk or larger size game, you might want to epoxy the threads up before you screw them in....just for added insurance.

I agree with Rob, just a shade over 40 grains. I have used them for years with great results.When I screw them in I always use a little anti-sieze because over time I have had a couple be stubborn coming out if they have been exposed to moisture stump shooting.  Ben

The Magnus 7075 adapters are a big improvement compared to the softer versions that have been around for years.  I haven't bent one yet, but I'm sure it could be done.

Even the older low grade aluminum versions I've used in the past took a mighty hard hit to bend.

YES! - Those are NICE adapters and quite strong.

I hadn't thought of epoxying the threads, that's a good suggestion. Tim, I think I have some magnus adapters that I bought from you so I may do some testing. Thanks for all the input.

I use them with field points,steel blunts,125 Grizzly Broadhead they work great. Blake

I have used them for a long time and have only had one problem, but I can see that if I had put some epoxy on the threads that problem may have never happened.

The only complaint I have with them is when you take your broadhead adapter off there is glue stuck in front of the broadhead. I tried to reuse an old Bear head  on a cedar and couldn't get the shaft in the hole because it was full of glue.

If you use a hot melt you won't have that problem.

i use a tapered hand reamer to de-glue the ferrules on broadheads.  works perfectly.
