Three Finger

Well I think I'm reddy. Been shooting my 52in 40/45lb Bear Black Panther out of a blind my dad gave me.Not sure what kind it is. But I am hitting 3 to 4 arrows in a softball size group at 15 yrds. I hope I can get them in that close. I have 2 decoys a tom and a hen. Should I use both or just the hen. My arrow is POC with 45gr grizzly. My calling is ok. I am useing a diaphram call just to keep my hands free. Well thats about all I can think of right now. Any feed back or comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I am getting ready to go myself. Are you useing a double bull blind?? I am having trouble shooting out of mine my top limb hits the roof, aand yes it has the 72" recurve center. I have to cant over to much and it ruins my anchor point and finger position on the string, So I am gonna take the shot off my knees out of the blind!!! My stool is a little tall but you can't find a shorter one around here with a back on it!! So Its down to my knees!!  :p
There are many good moccasin tracks along the trail of a straight arrow: ( fox )

Just do it Three Finger! Best way to know if you're ready and learning if your not is getting out into the woods. Best of luck to you and post a picture of that bird, will ya?

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

I'd use both deke's, but if you only decide to use one...use the Jake. Set them under 10 yds, that will get you your nice close shot...

Good Luck!

Well no turkey today. I did get a responce from a hen with my calling. Never got to see her or get her to bring a tom with her. For my first time I was happy just to get a responce from something. Tomorrow will be fun. Going again with my 5 yr old little girl. If I can figure out how to get some pic on here I will.

Being in a blind will afford you more freedom of movement so take your box call, if you have one. Wear black to help hide you better in the blind.

Good luck and don't forget to report in after your hunt!

I'm a big fan of the jealousy setup on morning hunts-- jake mounted on top of the hen.  When the big boys get a good look, they tend to come running in like bearded bullet trains!  My jake, Sylvester has taken a couple beatings from boss toms.
