Are the adapters on the screw-in woodsmans glued on pretty good? or would it be better to buy the glue-on and use an adapter with my own  glue?

Use your own and spin test before you place on your arrow.

They are glued on very well. I wanted to remove one, and it was a challenge.

I traded for some Woodsmans online and didn't realize they were screw in. No problem I thought till I tried to get the adaptor out. I heated it up considerably to remove it. I reckon it was epoxy or somethin'.

Yeah, it takes some work with a torch to get them out.

i'm a fan of woodsmans and i always use the glue-ons, then i can use different adapter weights to tailor the foc.  currently using 125gr glue-on ww's with 125gr steel adapters and a 100 grain brass insert - 350gr up front, 585gr arrow, 29.7% foc, ooooo they fly so nice.  :cool:

Thanks for all the help guys. I think I'll go with the screw-ins because I know 150 gr. is good for my setup.

Make sure they spin true......a couple of mine didn't.

I buy the 125gr no adapter and add a 75gr steel adapter for a 200gr head.

I do the same as Steel and beleive the that the steel adapter is a big advantage.

What glue do you use? I,m using some aluminum adapters in mine.

slow set epoxy, 30-45 minute.  a candle flame will break the bond if need be.  

don't use 5 minute epoxy - not waterproof.

i do the same as steel, and hedgetree, but i use archery hot melt glue to mount them.
make sure you cut about 1/8" off of the needle tip, to prevent curling. i just use a set of wire cutters.

I acetone the adapters, and make sure my fingers are clean as well so I don't transfer any body oil to the adapters screwing them in.

I sand the inside of the furrel and then acetone it with a Q-tip and get it clean.  If the inside of the furrel has paint in it, I acetone 1st then sand and acetone again.

I screw the adapter onto a shaft, and use 5 hour epoxy(2 hour will suffice)...wipe off any excess around the base unless it an even fine bead and then I leave it.  Make sure its seated, and spins true, and let cure.
