I've been shooting for about 2 years now, and I'm really getting into it.  I've been looking to buy a new bow for awhile, but I've recently been considering a takedown longbow.  Looking for any advice on this.  I've got a 31" draw length, so I'm concerned about buying a bow that is too short.

64-70" Border Griffon GL. Two piece sleeve. The GL stands for glassless but it does have carbon. THe carbon is 40% lighter than glass yet more torsionally stiff=more forgiving. Contact Sid@borderbows.com Pete Ward  www.peteward.com  did test/review.

Take a look at the Wapiti Spike. Keith Chastains take-down system won`t break the bank :-)) and works darn good.

Just make it clear to the bowyer you have a 31" draw. If I built ya one...it'd be 66" long.

Good Luck!

The RER LX 3 piece longbow works very well with longer draws.  For a draw like yours I would recommend a 64" bow.

Its not the size of the animal you hunt that matters. Its how you hunt the animal.

Of the 3 piece longbows I have shot , Ben Grahams Hummingbirds and Elmers Crow Creek Blackfeathers  are the best. One opinion. Flinthead

all that's gonna basically matter is the following ...

1. choose a bow length recommended to safely handle yer 31" draw, i.e. - 66" or so

2. pick a t/d style that functionally and aesthetically fits you - two or three piece

3. order in a draw weight that fits your draw length

4. shoot, enjoy     :saywhat:

Make sure it is measured at your draw weight so you know exactly what you have also.
