Blackhawk7204

It is clear coated with Krystal, a high solids conversion varnish. Tougher than most factory bow finish.

indianalongbowshooter

Does this finish make the grip of the bow very slippery when it gets wet, more so then the original finish?

Blackhawk7204

The final coat is misted on for a non reflective and slightly textured finish. It is not as slippery as the original finish.

Blackhawk7204

Bows really do look nice. I saw on the Bear LB the details were written back on in black. Just curious if an "old" Bear was dipped how the "value" would be impacted if at all? Still thinking about it...

As far as collector value it would hurt, just as having it refinished would. Making an old ugly but good shooting bow into a stealthy hunting weapon it would increase its value. You can even fill in any holes or large dents with epoxy or bondo or wood filler and have a nice bow. I've even seen metal risers with the holes filled in and a radiused shelf made from epoxy. After the dip looks like it was designed that way.

BobCo 1965

Lonnie did my Bob Lee about a year ago. The finish is still prefect.
