Well went in for a hopefully small surgery, remove a bone spur rubbing a tendon, all the MRI showed, when I woke up had had rotator cuff surgery, big hole in it on top of RH shoulder. wont be able to shoot a bow for 3 months, at least. I want to do what the doc says, so I dont have to repeat this. Well I still plan on making KY classic, hopefully Tenn. too, just hate the thought of not getting to shoot for this long, but will be sweeeet when I do!!

Hey that's not bad news.  It's only three months, but at least you'll be able to shoot again, at some point.

You've probably read this about shoulder surgery, but listen to the terrorist and doctor and don't get carried away.  Buy, borrow or steal some lighter bows than you own and start with them.

Good luck with it. I feel my time comin  :banghead:

Pard, in these types of things "Attitude is everything".  Keep it in a positive direction, devote some time to the neglected things in life, and be thankful that in time you'll be shooting again.

Been there done that, still need to do the other one. Do the therapy and start   light when you shoot again.

Keep your head up brother. Just look at the bright side. When hunting season comes around you should be back on track.

Slow and easy brother, slow and easy. You got the rest of your life to shoot, don't rush anything.  :campfire:

Tell your PT that you are an archer and want to recover with those movements in mind also.

Recovering from tricep surgery last Oct. Shot in my first shoot last Mo. Do what the Doctors say and dont do anything to reinjure. I was trying to push mine along and really hurting things more than not. Shooting a 40lb. bow at this time . Good luck and speedy recovery. Will be at the Klassic also!!

I wish you a speedy recovery.

I had back surgery L4-L5 region in July 07, reherniated the same disc in July 08, still herniated but it is getting better.

The key is slow, slow, slow.

I have had to make disciplined exercise regimines. Instead of trying for quick results.

Good luck,

Paul

I had to stop last year and then went back. Started with a 25# bow last Nov and worked back up to 50# now. Actually looking for a bit more power now. You can do it. But start low. If you need a light bow email me when the time to shoot again comes. I have some light stuff that's really nice.
Good luck
Were the nurses pretty at least?
