You guys that have 7 Lakes longbows, what do you think about the bows.  I have been trying to find one to shoot for a while now, with no luck.  I like my D-profile bows, slight R/D or straight limb.  I haven't heard much about his bows and I don't see many for sale. Just need some opinions, are they quiet, forgiving, stable and accurate.  I need pro and cons if you have them...

The one I had last summer was a very mild R/D. It was quiet and forgiving enough, just wasn't a Hill.

Yes, they are all those things. I absolutely love mine. I have longbows made by Robertson, Sentman, and 7 Lakes. The 7 Lakes is my favorite without a doubt.

I owned a 7 Lakes, it was the quietest bow I ever shot and it was very quick for a mild R/D and has it all over Hill style bows in my opinion, I mean any Hill bow i ever shot had enough hand shock to rattle my teeth. These bows are none of that. Shawn

Yep I have the 7 Lakes that Shawn had. It doesn't have the hand shock that a straight limb bow has. I have eight bows on rack and the 7 Lakes seems to always be the first off the rack. That's it in my avaitar.

i met mike ballenger at his shop and shot some a while back.  a well made bow and a nice honest guy too.

I'm enjoying the one I got last year. Got it at the end of the summer and have been shooting it almost exclusively since.

I have many bows (some I made) and the 7 lakes I bought on **** is my favorite 1 pc longbow.

One of the nicest shooting bows I've shot was the 7 Lakes Shawn and Bob are talking about above.  The other two I've shot were average in all aspects.  Nice bows, but with issues.

One had a good deal of handshock and the other had a very uncomfortable grip... almost pointed at the throat.  That could be padded, but it was just an average performer in terms of speed, shock and sound.  They were well constructed bows, but just didn't impress me like Bob's bow.

A 7 lakes bow is my main shooter.  I'm debating whether to order another blank from them or try a Dwyer.

It's not a high performance bow, but the arrows just go right THERE.  The option to buy the blank and shape everything to your liking is great.
