"A hunt based only on trophies taken falls short of what the ultimate goal should be...time to commune with your inner soul as you share the outdoors with the birds, animals, and fish that live there"

It does look fun and that guy is an awesome shot. I think it would take a bit of practice shooting from a sitting position.

Will you eat that? If not, why did you kill it?

James Wrenn

I have never tried shooting fish from sitting down that low.Sure looks like fun and he can get in some holes with the kayak.I have one I bought my daughter 2 years ago that has never been in the water.I think I am going to give it a try and get the darn thing wet.  :D

I bought a 9 footer in the after-Christmas sales, about 200 bucks. Been wondering if I could shoot my bow from it- that guy makes it look easy. Just waiting for the weather to warm a bit.

In a kayak, have a hard time reaching full draw and have a very limited shooting area.
To get a feel for what it is like, sit on the ground with your leg stretched straight out.  It is a little more complicated in that you are actually sitting below the surface of the water and the kayak may get in your way but it gives you an idea of the shot.

James Wrenn

I can see that you would have to forget those close to the boat shots and try to stay some distance from the fish.I expect I will wind up getting in the backwaters and hopping out with hip waders for most of the shooting.  :D

I don't know about you, but the bowfishing is secondary to the artistry that the guy uses in his filmwork. I've never seen anyone portray bowfishing as well as he did. I give it 5 stars.

i've considered a canoe but haven't pursued it as i don't really have access to good carp shooting here.  I would think that you'd be in a bit better shooting setup kneeling in the canoe, but you can't argue with what that guy does...
