I've decided I'm gonna shoot these arrows, and I need to ask a couple questions:

1.  Do they make weighted inserts that fit these shafts (any mfr. is fine)?

2.  I have a Bitz., but no (immediately handy) arrow saw.  I've always shot 30" arrows, and was wondering if I could make the spine work by just adding the appropriate tip weight (I know this works, in theory, but I'm talking about an entire dozen arrows).  I dont think it'll make my overall arrow too heavy doing it this way, but I'm open to criticism.  

If I can find a 50gr. insert that'll fit them, it would seem to make the process easier.

I'll be shooting these from a 52# @ 28" (my draw length) Mohawk LB.

I'm thinking I'm gonna end up with 175gr up front, but that's only a guess.

I'm also gonna have them send one shaft unfletched.

3Rivers sells 50 grain and 100 grain inserts for the CX heritage shafts.  With a CX 150 and your  given bow weight you should be able to tune them with point weight as you suggested. Good Luck! dino

Which CE Heritage shafts are you looking at? It does depend on how much past center your LB is cut. I shoot a 55# recurve and shoot the 250s with 100gr. brass inserts with 125gr heads. You will have to go to the 150s if you are wanting to shoot less weight in the tip. Yes, you can get weighted inserts for these shafts.

Jeff if you get arrows from Badger Arrow you can have the inserts included. Otherwise 3R's, Kustom King or the nocking point all sell them!

I just shot 30 shots with her.....and if ANYTHING the fletched 250's are impacting a "hair" pointing left.  I was really surprised.

These have the std. inserts and 125gr tips.  

What does an impact with the nock ends pointing "slightly" left indicate?

What length are they from nock slot to back of tip? Fletched you really can't tell a thing. You need to shoot them bare shaft.

Let me ask a dumb question....

If they fly right, fletched, does it matter what they fly like bare shaft?

How much will the feathers correct?

Honest question.  I have no idea.

If they fly good without the "stablizers", i.e. fletching then you know they will fly great with them. I like knowing that arrow I just released on an animal will do the job.

Put a BH on a couple and see if they hit with the field points, bet they dont. Or go shoot the bare shaft (w/field point) and see where it goes. 250's are too stiff for that bow, been there done that.

I set up some CX250's last summer for a moose hunt, 29 1/2" von to bop, 50gr brass insert, 125 gr steel adapter, 160 stos, that's a lot of weight up front and 660 gr total arrow weight...flew like darts. bow is 55#-27".....oh yeah it's a Mohawk longbow.
The 150's won't require as much weight up front and should work great for you.

I'm shooting 150's uncut w/50gr insert & 145gr point out of 51# @ 28 longbow.Hope this helps you.

Im shooting 250 shaft cut at 30" 100g brass insert 125g BH. Crow Creek Recurve "copperhead" 54@28 my draw is 29.

I am also shooting a 49@28 recuve with same arrow. Both bows were bareshafted and then BH tuned.

Just got 2 dozen more from Badger Arrow. great service and a great price.

I honestly called Badger, yesterday.  He told me 2-3 weeks to get arrows.

I guess that's good for him (business is keeping him that busy), but I might go a different route to get arrows here, quicker.

I'm gonna order some 150's and some different inserts.

You can cut the 100 grain inserts w/bandsaw, but it's not an exact science.  Get some variation.
