I just started shooting recurve and can not decide what quiver I want to use to hunt with. I have gotten some feedback from those more experienced, but I still can not decide. I have a Bear Grizzly with the screw inserts already there.

Please give me suggestions. I will be hunting treestand most often.
I do not leave my quiver on while on stand.
Thanks, TF

You can listen to all the advice out there, but you're still going to have to do what the rest of us did...

buy, make or borrow every type of quiver conceivable until you find one that fits you!  :D

Nice work there Jeff. Yeah it's hard. I have never quite been involved in a tradition that is so individual based. It's like everyone has their own special ways and equip. I love it already.

No need to spend tons of money.  You can get patterns for most types of quivers and vinyl makes a decent substitute.  Try 'em all on the cheap before spending money on good leather or buying 'em.

Rod's got a great idea with the Arrowmaster.  I don't know if you looked at the thread that he posted but in case you didn't, he's got an ad on youtube.  I love mine!

If you have the insert already on the bow I'd go with a standard qwikie quiver.  That's what I did with my PSE.  Once I got into my treestand I took it off and tied it to the rail of my stand or hung it from a nearby branch.

I first bought a bow mounted quiver (selway).  Didn't like it.  I then bought a hip quiver (3Rivers).  Still have it but don't care for it, either.

Bought an Arrowmaster from Rod.....and I love it.

It's the only one I need for everything, now.

Good luck.

I think you need different ones for each situation, depending on what or where you are shooting or hunting.Brush, tree stand, ground, stumping or shooting in the back yard etc. etc.

I've tried a bunch of 'em. Tried a selway on the bow, great  quiver, but i found i don't like my arrows hangin on the side of my bow.

Tried a hip quiver, after a day of hunting, I followed the trail of arrows I dropped out of it back to camp.

I use back quivers for 3D shoots, and when I'm practicing at home. Too noisy to hunt with, and not practical when wearing a daypack. I have several but not to hunt with.

For hunting, I use the GFA quiver Fred Asbell sells. I love it. I have not tried an arrowmaster but its on my list of stuff to get. I suspect next time I go elk hunting, I'll have one.

Good luck, youhave to play with several and find whatyou like best for you.

Buy yourself a Great Northern strap on.  Try it on the bow.

If you don't like it, use a thick piece of dowel rod to wrap the quiver to, attach a shoelace strap to the dowel and sling it over oen shoulder.  Instant side quiver.

I'm usign the side quiver option and like it better than anything else I've tried.  It's cheap, effective and just as handy hanging beside me int he stand as it is on the walk in.

Ya,you gotta try them out before you make up your mind.I tryed a plains style quiver.Didn`t care for it.I like my quiver on my bow for big game. And a back quiver for small game. You could buy used ones to try to see if you like it or not.If you don`t like it,sale it.You`ll lose little if any money.Who knows, you might make money on the sale.

I tried that, then I bought an Arrowmaster.  Wish the Arrowmaster had come out years ago--I'd have saved a small fortune and a lot of aggravation.
