I finally got my first traditional bow, a Damon Howatt Coronado, from a very nice man, David Bartholomew. Anyway, I am not sure of the year of the bow and was wondering what everyone knew about Damon Howatts. Such as, what year martin took them over, which serial numbers are original Damon Howatts and which are Martins, and anything else anyone might know about these excellent bows. If you know anything about them please post what you know. Thanks in advance for everyones response.

Post over on trad history/collecting forum and you'll get some help on your Howatt.

1976 is when they sold the Howatt plant.
I don't know about how to go and look up serial numbers. If you found out a way let me know please.

we built the coronado from 1967-1975, started it again in 1980 until 1991. most of the later ones were shedua with brown glass.

The Coronado was my first (real) bow.  It was a very nice bow.  Kinda wish I still had it.  I did a lot of things with that bow.

I started with a Hunter in the mid 80's. I have owned and sold almost every Custom bow made. I just traded my last custom for a Hunter. Just feels right.........

Thanks for all the info. So far, I really like my Damon Howatt Coronado. I shot it so much yesterday my shoulder started to hurt pretty bad   :knothead:   so I'm not going to shoot it any today although its starting to feel better.   :)

I have a old #50 Damon Howatt Hunter.
The guy I got it from said that he bought it before Martin took over. I'm not sure if he's knows what he's talking about.
But that bow is still my go to bow!!!
The days when I can't hit the broadside of the barn I get that bow and I start shooting better!!!
Everybody that shoots it seems to shoot it good. I've had about 10 guys try to buy it...I'll never sell her!!!!
I killed a elk with her the first year I took her out!
I just kinda wanted to know exactly how old it is.
