Gotta love those Zippers, she's a beauty!

Congrats Bill, great to meet you at Kalamazoo also.I shot the foam core longbow limbs SXT at Kalamazoo and thought that the craftsmanship and shooting qualities of Zipper bows was great. First time I had shot one and gklad I did. Flint

nice bow! Yup I made the "mistake" of shooting a SXT recurve at Kzoo. It really impressed me, and I have one at the top of the wish list!

Mine on order also. Carbon/foam longbow limbs. Bill said you can have the tips anyway you like. I have the square on my recurves so I'm getting the round ones on my SXT. He is even grinding sassafras veneers from a failed selfbow attempt for me. C'mon MAY!

I also have longbow limbs on order. Trying to deceide on which ones though. I wasn't smart enough to shoot the longbow limbs at Kalamazoo.  :banghead:    :banghead: . Guess I was just so impressed with the recurve that I never thought about it. I have always really liked Bamboo cores. Really have no experence with the foam cores.

JW, I like the bamboo cores but... the foam and carbon limbs seem to ratchet things up another notch. Have fun deciding.

I know I have already commented on this thread. Even though I don't currently shoot a Zipper, I would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a great shooting custom bow. I my opinion they are the most bang for your buck and I would not hesitate to buy one.

Bill go with the foam cores at the least. You can thank me after you shoot them.    ;)

Ryan,
Your right you sure do get alot for your money. They are probably the nicest recurve I have ever shot. I can't wait to see how the longbow limbs perform. I walked by Bill's booth at Denton Hill for 5 years. I couldn't bring myself to shoot one of his bows. They looked like a $1200 bow. I was very suprised to find out base price is only $750. I should have tried one 5 years ago.  :banghead:

I've only owned four recurves but if I could only keep one it'd be my old Zipper.
It fits my hand, right and shoots where I'm looking...great shooter with plenty of cast.
Happy trails....   ('till we meet again, Dale Evans Rogers)

Bill Dunn says that the bamboo core and foam core perform about the same in the recurve limbs. You need to go with the foam and carbon in the longbow limbs to match the recurve limb performance.

I'll be hunting with Bill down at Rays and will get my first chance to try one. Can't wait!

Norb,
