Well, I started shooting in my Ghillie last night and noticed a few things. First they can be very warm, and second hitting my anchor every time was a little bit of a challenge because of the face mask. I have the Rancho Safari longcoat, with boonie hood and face mask. I had my wife start trimming where my bow string would catch (inside my arm, and chest area), and then I put on a full length arm gaurd which seemed to help. My battle will be the face mask  :mad:  I seem a little inconsistant hitting my anchor with it on. I tried tucking it in my longcoat so it doesnt hang down, but no matter what it seems a little loose on my face. I will not give up on it, because I believe it will be very effective. Any suggestions on how to make my transition to the Ghillie  a little more easier? I think the more I shoot with it on the more effective I will be in it.

Don't use the face mask--use camo face paint or burnt cork. Ghillies are awesome!

Will that leave me "to exposed"?

Richard, are you not hitting your anchor on occasion, or is it instead not liking what you feel when you hit it?  Rotating the mask a half-inch, inch or more might get what ever is in the way out of the way.  Or, trim that area as well.  On the other hand, if it's a feel thing, comfortableness with that will come with more shooting repetition.

Only had a little time to try my Ghillie in the woods two years ago, then someone broke into my cabin and stole it.  Think I'll get another though.  No doubt that they work well.

I use burnt cork cause if I wear a mask my glasses fog up.

If you're hunting turkeys, you'll probably get busted wearing face paint or burnt cork.  But, then again, with turkeys, you'll probably get busted anyway the second you try to move your bow arm.
With most other game, face camo works fine if it's not shiny...

Make sure the wife is in a good mood when she does the trimmin'  :D

I use a camo bandana with mine and just run it up and over my nose.  The boonie covers my forhead so all that shows is my eyes

Try trimming it around the side of the mouth where you anchor.  I did that with my face mask (not gillie).

going to my compound days i had a hard tiem with a face mask so i cut a hole in the mask where my kisser button hit my face you could try doing the same thing where your anchor is
