I don't know many other traditional archers but the the few that I do don't hold a very high opinion of Samick bows in general. They all consider them cheap and of poor quality mostly due to stories from a friend of a friend. I am not sure why this is and I was wondering if anybody had any stories to share (both good and bad)about Samick bows. I own a Red Stag takedown Recurve and absolutely love it. It looks, feels and shoots great. Not bad for a under $200 bow. I took some pics to share with yah all and I look forward to hearing any stories you might have.

Inexpensive bow is just that...inexpensive bow.If you can shoot it accurately that's all that matters.

Just cuz it ain't a fancy pants high dollar bow doesn't mean it won't kill animals.

Congrats on the new bow bud.

Justin, I don't have any Samick stories too share with you but, there ain't nothin' wrong with that bow! It shore is better than the one I started out on. A lot of people think that because something is not custom made, or is inexpensive, then it can't be of good quality. Well I believe, and I'm sure others on here feel the same way, that cost doesn't matter. It's how the bow feels and performs for you! That's what matters.

I have to agree they are good shooters regardless of price. I have shot a few and they perform as well as many of the customs out there and the ones I handled were finished off pretty nice as well. Shawn

Well finally got the photos right (sort of). I only wish I had bought this bow before I dropped $600 on a custom.

I tried to stay away from samick bows since the limb explosion of my spirit II recurve, but they came out with so many good looking bow I'm almost tempted to give them another chance

The Samick SKB 50 is well made and accurate (it is a 50 inch recurve with now shelf).

I have a older Samick, the Black Widow copy.
I bought it as a cheap fishing bow....boy does it shoot!!!
I'm looking now to buy one for my son, I just can't make up my mind which one.
I do see that alot of overseas teams shoot them, I know its not the same model we're talking about but they gotta be doing something right.
Yours is good looking, congrats!

I've got a no-frill's Samick Mountain Stalker TD.  It's not pretty, but it shoots awesome - I shoot it better than many of my production bows that I payed significantly more for.  It's a keeper for sure.

I have a "DeerSlayer" i bought from a fellow tradganger. I love my samick, its shotsgreat and is quite.
The bows I saw at this years ata show from Samick are gonna turn some heads. I wish I would took some photos.

I had samick similar to yours, takdown hunter. When I first got it she shot so much smoother than the older bows that a lot of people are crazy about, no stack and several deer I killed with it were impressed! Other people dont pay your bills, or shoot your bow, and a lot of people get ticked off when they pay a wad of money for a bow, and pick up another cheap one that shoots nearly as fast and as good. I understand this, done it myself and it hurts your pride, but people shouldnt go badmouthing a product unless they have given it a fair shake, but such is life. Enjoy the heck out of the bow, she is a beaut.Sam.

SCATTERSHOT

They are made in Korea, and the Koreans make some of the finest bows in the world, I'm told. never had one, but I have read rave reviews on here and other places about them. Very nice looking bow you have there.

Just got me a Samick Stingray. Been looking at it for awhile. Took it to a shoot today and it shoots great. Had alot of compliments from guys there. Love the feel.

i don't think this lot would have been able to tell the difference between a samick or a black widow. it was a bow i borrowed while waiting for my bob lee after my only bow blew up.
deerslayer t/d  62" 55#@28". seemed to be a good bow to me.

i have shot another samick t/d, i can't remember what model though, it stacked like crazy.
