I had some time to do some side by side testing with some other toys to get a good comparison on the bow I made. I used the same arrows for all shots. I took 9 shots with each bow, trying to get a consistant draw on each. I stayed pretty close in speed on the shots, so I think it was a good test. I was pleasantly surprised with my speeds on the recurve I made.

The specs: All the shots were with 3 carbon express 45/60 at 31", 145 grain tip. The arrows weigh 515 grains each.

My new recurve: 45#@29",62"ff string,
avg 174fps

Bighorn recurve: 57#@29",62"ff string,
avg 184fps

Bigriver 2pc td longbow: 53#@29", 64" ff string, avg 178fps

Bigriver  longbow: 51#@29", 62" ff string,
avg 179fps

Bigriver 3pc td longbow: 57#@29", 64" ff string
avg 183fps

I shot my ce 100 out of my curve for fun. They weighed 420 grain & shot an average of 202 fps. I thought that was pretty good, but the bow was a tad noisier & had some vibration. Pics to follow.

Nice looking bow, how long is the riser? would you say it has a low grip.

Yep, I had help on making the bow by my friend Dave Ricke (master knifemaker). I shaped the grip slowly & to my liking. I am used to longbows, so I did not want to stray to far on the grip.
