Just posting this because there was soem ppl interested in the findings.

Paul Jalon sent me some test arrows.

85# and 145 grain tips.

I have to short them 1" to get them to fly but they fly perfect.

He is suggesting the set of 80# ones to take an inch off them and go down to 125 grain tips and he feels they will go good too.

Have to check it out this weekend

Paul knows his arrows-you won't be disappointed when you order some.  Paul is also very familiar with Ron's bows.  I was impressed with how mine were matched, both spine and weight.

Jerry why don't ya post the specs. of your bow at your draw and such. Threads like these can help people looking for an arrow to match their new bows. It at least can help get them close! Shawn

ok here we go

Bow = 2 piece 56" Siper Shrew Deluxe (gray one).

58# @ 28" - I shoot 28.5"

Arrows - Sitka Spruce from Paul Jalon  - Wood - 85# - 30" BOP - 145 grain tips

I originally had #80 30"BOP with 145 grain tips and they were weak.

Pauls suggestion is to take the originals cut them down a bit more and try the 125 grain tips.

I will check that out soon and give it a try.

Paul has been great trying to help me out so that's been a great help

Jerry, is your bow a Super Shrew or a Shrew Classic. I think I would have recommended a Classic for your draw length.

Paul is the most knowledgeable arrow man I know,...that's why he's building the arrows I have on my web site. He's been making arrows so long (he admits to 50 years but it's longer).... that he's forgotten more about arrow making than most people know..   :readit:

Yup Paul is a great guy and always willing to help out finding that one special arrow.  He is helping me right now find the perfect arrow for one of my bows.

Ron - it's the Shrew Classic - yup I think I have the combo and I will know more this weekend.

I can't shoot past 10 yards inside the shop and it's been REAL COLD lately and I have a hockey tourney this weekend, but next week I will get on it.

The bow shoots sweet, just needed to get the right arrows is all.

Just a bit frustrating when you live up here where you can't get anything locally even to try.

But saying that I have had great help from ron and Paul and all the others on this site...i just wish the dogsled mailing system was faster, but hey I will trade that for less ppl.
