What are his bows like? They have a different sort of limb on them. Any opinions.

I have a Wapiti takedown that I bought off someone here. They are smooth and quick. The finish is anything but fancy. The woods used on it are nice looking though. Overall, I think it's a very good bow to hunt with.

I had a Wapiti recurve for a couple years and it was, as others have said, very smooth. I moved on to a heavier and prettier bow. I'll tell you,Mr. Chastain is a quality guy. I met him at a shoot in CO one time and he's very nice and of course knowledgeable. If you want a no-frills, smooth-shooting bow, you'll do well there.

I've got one coming used but, am excited about shooting it. I talked to Keith on the phone the other day about a second set of limbs, oh ya it's a Wapiti, and he was a great guy to talk too. Gave me lots of input on the bow when it comes.

If you decide, give Keith a call. Heck, just give him a call and he'll tell you what you need to know.

I have one.  Hunted with it a few years, and I even killed some deer with it.  I moved on to other bows, but I still have the Wapiti on my rack.  They are smooth, quiet, and overall good shooters.  The finish detail is not as good as a Schafer or Widow, but they are still good bows.

Keith builds an outstanding hunting bow. Smooth & fast. The fit & finish on the riser is as good as any, however, under the clear glass over the wedge there are a few visible grinding marks. But not one critter has complained about it so far....laffs. Keith is a great guy, custom fit the grip to my exact specs @ no extra charge etc.

They cost a heck of a lot less than other "prettier" bows & if yer looking for experience, this will be Keith's 50th year of crafting fine hunting bows.

Nicknamed mine "Wild Thang" cause the 1st time I drew the bow back it creaked & moaned & when I released the arrow I instantly realized it was underspined as it fish-tailed towards the butt, back end touched a leaf on the way, grazed the top of the butt, ricocheted off a couple of trees making one heck of a racket. WILD!

Personally, I like 'em. - Q.
