So... just about an hour ago I was sitting on another board reading about someone's first Robin Hood and how a bunch of other posters were saying they have been shooting for years and have never shot one.  I sat there figuring that it would be forever till I got one... eventually.  It has been a bit of a stressful day, I have been sick (the not more than 10ft from the bathroom type) for the last day... the missus was all up tight (the kind that happens along every 28 days or so)... the kids were screaming going nuts (the kind... well the usual kind)...  So I thought I would de-stress and shoot a few arrows.  I have a 20 yard impromptu range downstairs.

Guess what happened!?!?!

I've yet too have that happen. Hope you don't get too many as that kind of shooting could get expensive!  :biglaugh:

The first time I did that, I thought it was cool. The several times I've done it since, I just thought about having to replace another arrow (or two). With carbons, it's the money. With cedars, it's the time to build them that bothers me.

I think it would take forever to do one on purpose (even Byron Ferguson had to make lots of attempts). I seem to be pretty gifted (or cursed) at doing it accidentally. I just can't make myself shoot at separate dots. I love to see a nice tight group, so that's the price you pay I guess.

Congrats on your first! That's the fun one.

My dad and i were shooting last year and one of my arrows went right through his. It was really cool but i agree with 30coupe if it starts happening frequently it will start to get annoying.

Ya, I just can't get happy about those things! Nice shot though!  :)

Thanks for the replies!  I am pretty proud of the group too, but remember there was no stress, indoors, no buck fever.... My groups always open up when the stress comes into play!  I was just pretty excited... I guess I can cough up some more for carbons... but I hope it doesn't get too expensive!

Thanks!

Nice shot.

I liked the robin hood my wife shot.  I shot one arrow and she walks up and says I am going to shoot your nock.  And to this day ( many years later) I still have those two arrows stuck together on the wall.

Its always amazing when it happens.

I think the best I have done so far is take the feather clean off another arrow. I dont like it I am in college and money is tight so messing up arrows is a BAD thing.
