I am shooting a 50# at 28" Savanna longbow and pull 28.5"+/-, using a XX75 Eastons 2018 cut to 29" with a 125gm field tip and feathers. 99% of the time my arrow looks like it was shot from the left, they are not straight in the target. The penetration is good and it does not seem to matter what distance I have shot from? Any suggestions?

If you are right handed it would indicate that it is a weak shaft. put a lighter tip in and give it a go again.

Chortdraw has it nailed that you are underspined, but since we now know that the heavier the tip the better the penetration (and more), you'd be much better off, rather than dropping point weight, to try trimming the shaft back half an inch at a time until things straighten out. But since you don't have any shaft length to spare (most shooters like an inch extra, and you have only 1/2") and are already shooting a point that's arguably too light to maximize penetration for big game, your best bet is to go up one step in spine stiffness. Although you can't tell the difference in flight and penetration, angled shots suck up accuracy, speed and momentum. Any competent archery shop will have various spined arrows you can try and a range to try them on, fletched and bareshaft. Good luck, dave

Guy, you are OVERspined. Try a 2016 cut 30 inches to back of point with 125gr tip. I also shoot 28.5" from a 50lb Savannah. They spine perfectly for me.

Sorry to chime in, but which is it, over or under spined???? I have the same problem...

If shooting right handed and the fletched arrow impacts to the LEFT of your aiming point the arrow is too STIFF... No doubt at all you need a weaker spine,, or heavier tip weight..

Adding tip weight is fastest to weaken the shaft.

try bareshafting some and see what happens.

I shoot 2016 cut to 29 in. with 125 points out of my 48 to 52 lbs longbows  . I do shoot 2018 also but I cut the arrow 30 in. and use 145 grain tip .

Thanks, yes there was different responses but I have tried one thing after reading the responses. I pulled back onto the shelf, so as to get another 3/4" out of the bow and therefore assumed more force; the result were very straight impact that leads me to believe that the arrow is overspined. I am going to try 2016 and see where that goes. Thank you all, this is a really great place to get peoples ideas and experince, talk to you later.
