This is a silly question, but one I go through everytime I order a new bow.  Do you get your bow's draw weight marked at your draw length or the "standard" 28"?  How bout to the half inch or just the closest inch?  Thanks for humoring me...Mike

Just use the standard on my longbows, but I have a Doug Knight recurve with two sets of limbs.  One my Father in law ordered for me and it says 65# @ 29".  He used my compound draw and when I ordered a second set of limbs, they are marked 70# @27".  

Just finished stripping it and Jack Harrison will refinish it for me.

The half inch lends to more of a distinction from other bows that look the same.

I have mine at the half inch but I did it more as a joke. You know how Black Widow charges, what, $75 to get it to the exact pound? Well, I just told my bowyer: "Anything in the early 60's would be fine, just write on it what it comes out at for my draw length-28...and a half. That'll look REALLY custom!" Now actually I think it looks kinda stupid or not who I am (somebody who would care if it came to the exact pound) but what the heck!    

My bows are labeled 56@32", and 59@32".  Both customs for me, and at my draw (sometimes)....

My draw length is right around 27 1/2 so it's kind of a no brainer for me.

I have them marked at the standard 28", even though I draw 30".  It helps if/when I decide to sell them.

I have a 29" draw so if its custom for me I have it marked as such,51#@29" ,on used bows@28" I just add 3-4# and I'm good.

Bob, as Bernie would say, "If I were born rich instead of so good lookin'" it wouldn't be a problem, but in the search for the bow I couldn't afford to keep them all.  

I have an old John Schulz glassed follow the string longbow called the "Favorite" marked 65# @ 27 1/2"

I draw about 31 to 32 inches but my bow is marked at both 28 and 30 inches.

I am very obsessive/compulsive and I go through this question everytime I order a bow.  My draw length varies from 29-30.25" depending on how I'm shooting (swing draw vs set draw and hold anchor).  I always end up getting my bows weighed at 28", while it isn't my draw length it has long been the "standard" and that doesn't change depending on my style.  Thanks for your answers guys, just curious how "normal" people operate
