2 Blades and 4 bades I use a KME. He is a sponsor here under the name Sharpster on the sight.  Joe

10" mill B file, throw one in the pack, works great. Not tried the KME though will have one for this next season.

OOPS sorry, totally lost that un, never used a snuffer. On my woodsmans I use a 12" file from 3rivers to start em, then a stone, then crock stiks.

On 2 blades it is hard for me not to use the little 10" file I mentioned above.

Ditto on KME! They were at the Kazoo show from Northern NJ, so they might not hit the home 20 till Tuesday.

give them a call... they'll not only sell you good stuff, but tutor you on the phone! Amazing!

Ron gave me a personal tutorial at K-Zoo and I feel I can get my broadheads sharper then ever now! I bought a whole kit with a diamond stone and can't wait to work over my Stos heads.

10 inch mill bast@rd file. You can resharpen in the field; and strop it on your knife sheath.

But whatever you can personally use to get a broadhead sharp; is what you should be using.

The objective is a sharp head; not following popular ideas:      :archer:    that don't work for you.

lansky gets the job done on 2&4 blades and there is a tutoral in the "How to" section of this site to show you how to get it done.

what about the snuffer kit or the x-block from 3 rivers?  i see the kme in there as well.

For two blades I use the KME on a 4" x 10" DMT Diamond bench stone with one side medium the other side fine. With the snuffer or woodsman I use the same stone with putting two blades at a time on the stone and moving it across the whole stone alternating between the blades. It will get them hair popping sharp. The big diamond stone makes it so much easier and faster to get them sharp.

A big sharp bastard, a piece of cardboard and a bit of practice, works wonders on any two blade head.
And if that doesn't work there is always STOS!

In my opinion, the best broadhead sharpening tools are a file and a crock stil because I can tuck them in my pack and touch up heads in the field. But if we're talking about sharpening heads at home, where the size of the tool(s) isn't a concern, there are a ton of great options available.

For 2/4 blades, Ron's products are top notch.  If you talk with him, he will tell you it is "you, knowing what you are doing" - and he will take the time to coach you through it.  I will say, his products are well designed, and really work well.

For Snuffers and other 3-blades, files, stones, sticks, and strops do the trick.  Some guidance videos here on the forum that are excellent.

KME is the best and easiest sharpener that I've used for my 2-blade heads.

I've used Snuffers for the majority of my hunting since '85. A mill bastard file, followed by a crock stick (I use an industrial halogen light bulb filament) and stropping on a piece of leather (knife sheath) or my jeans have given me hair popping sharpness. When I'm not using Snuffers, I've got Ribteks and do the same thing. I carry a small file in my pack for field or camp touch-ups.
