well im always thinking about the durability of my bows. my hoyt gamemaster is pretty much bullet-proof, at least the riser anyway. i like the idea of not having to worry about my bows finish or scratching that pretty wood. i do love and appreciate the beauty of wood and own some nice bows, nothing to fancy:)

so now thats out of the way. i was at a local trade show and saw a line-x vendor. he had jeep parts and other accessories sprayed....but he also had a wood gun stock sprayed. he was showing how tough the bedliner spray was by beating this gunstock with a hammer. then i got to thinking....what if i got a 3 piece bow made, left the riser unfinished but got the limbs finished with whatever veneer or even black glass. then have the riser sprayed with the liner everywhere except the limb pockets. heck after that you could even have the bow camo dipped for a uniform setup....i think it would be a great all weather hunting bow and the riser would probably have zero chance of breaking.

any thoughts or opinions welcome

It's been done and even gives the riser some gripping texture. I saw pics of one on another site not to long ago.

Sounds like it would be rather quiet too...

yeah i thought about that also...i think it would be interesting to put one to the test. the only thing is i dont know what bowyer. i wouldnt want to make anyone mad by covering up their work. any suggestions?

If you get it on the limbs, will add weight or screw up the tiller, had a buddy tried it on a cheap yardsale bear. Added nearly 12# pull weight on the bow.

If you're going to do that to the bow why buy new?  Pick up whatever used bow you like off the classifieds.  Poor condition would be no problem for you!

I have used it on a Bullet thermos to both camo it and make it quiet.  I also use it on all myy tree stands for a traction finish.  Never thought of using it on a bow?

yeah ill have to get a bow and post pics...and trust me i would never apply it to limbs. thats why i want a decent 3 piece bow.
