I have a 53# Whisperstick recurve and I am thinking of getting another one around #65. Just curious if anyone has one that heavy and how they like it. Scott

I have a 58@28 Mojostik and it's very smooth and fast.  My draw length is 29" so I'm pulling 60-61 lbs.

I was at my local shop yesterday and could not believe how many whispersticks they had in stock.  Sorry, did not look to see if any at 65#.  That is a bit above my little range.  Like 20#!

Too bad I just sold the infamous "cedar monster" to another tradganger about 2 months ago. It was 68 lbs of beauty and power, but good lord it was 68 lbs! It was one I demoed for JD for a while, I just couldnt shoot that much poundage. But, man it really moved an arrow.

Katie-I am not sure you are looking at whisperstiks. JD doesnt sell them in any stores, only directly out of his shop. Unless that archery shop has a bunch of used ones for some reason. Or, there is someone else building a bow and using the name.

Do they look like any for the ones on his site?

I know the shop she visits and he has sold whisperstiks for a very long time. If they arent JD's creations someone else has the same name. I wish I could answer if they look the same but I havent been there for over a year or so. If you want to check it out, it's Bearfoot Traditions in Des Moines IA.

Jason- It must be different somehow in name. There was never a store in Iowa that had them.  We will check into it. Thanks

Jason and Katie-  The bows that you are seeing in the shop in Iowa are Whisper Stix.  That is the model of the bow built by Double BB Bows in New Mexico.  I have had a few people contact me about these bows.  It is funny that 2 people at the opposite sides of the country can pick out the same cool name. LOL.  Anyways,  I hope everything is straight now.  JD-  Whisperstik Bows

60" Mojostik 60#@25" so I'm pulling just a tad over 60#.
Shoots real fast, real smooth and real nice.

katie

Thanks for the clear up.  I will take back what I said before about JD's bows.  I guess I have never shot one!
JD-I do remember the bows having Double BB on them.  Guess I thought it was a model name.
Jason-Why don't you sell some bows to Tom so I can go in and shoot them  :)   He had one for a bit and I loved it!!!  Was sad to see it sold.
