This is a pix of my 8 month old Lab, Parker, with the second shed he's found on his own in less than a week. I was outside working on the house the other day and both dogs (also my wife's Bichon/Cocker) were running around in the bush. I just finished up and was putting tools and step ladder away when I turned around and there was Parker with a decent 4 point shed in his mouth with a "look what I found" expression. He has been brought up with sheds all around as chew and retireving toys. He is a retrieving psycho! By far the best dog I've had yet. He has never had an in house accident. I've never had a dog that didn't mess in the house while housebreak training. He comes right away when called or whistled to. I can't wait to get him out once the snow melts. I have a small 4 point shed located on one of my hunting spots that is untouched that I can work him on. Also looking forward to getting him in the water.
Excuse me for puffing my chest out a bit.
It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

Dad raised Labs and I have a real soft spot for them.
Good luck with the pup, labs are easy to train.

Hey Gun, bring him down in 6 or 7 weeks.
Maybe he can find some sheds around here. 12 bucks and 1 dinky little drop found last year.

I love labs.  My old gun dog died in 1997 and If I ever got another one I'd name him Parker also after a genuine American classic double.

He's actually named after one of my hunting buddies that died from cancer about 5 years ago now. Doug Parker. I still miss him.
I have a feeling that Parker is going to be one of those "once in a lifetime dogs". Smart as all get out.
Terry we'll come down once all this white crap goes.Have some spots figured out. Saw 5 Bucks last night still packin.
Curt- yeah they are around but I live on the poor side of the bowzone.  :D
