Which do you prefer?

Does anyone have turkey or goose feathers? i really want to try either or both of these on some traditional arrows but don't have a source. am willing to trade something. thanks, Dan.

Both work fine for fletching. Primary wing turkey feathers are the most durable but I also use secondary and tail feathers as well as goose wing feathers. Goose feathers are more tolerant of moisture and don't mat down like turkey feathers do when wet.    Pat

I saved some Snow Goose wings, will they work as well as Canada pinyons?

Lucas, I've never used snow goose feathers but I'd guess they would be as good as Canada goose. Are they solid white or do they have black on them also?     Pat

The biggest advantage of the goose feathers is their natural ability to repel water. They are great for wet weather shooting/hunting.

Goose feathers are great. I have used canada and snow and they both work just fine. They are a little noisier due to them being a little wider than turkey feathers.

I like to have one or two arrows with goose feathers for rainy days.

The wild birds (turkey or goose) should have more natural oil than farm raised turkey feathers.

More water resistance.

I've never seen a snow goose much less their feathers. I assumed they were mostly white with maybe some black on them. Are the secondaries and tail feathers black also or black and white mixed?    Pat

The snows have a little black at the wing tips when mature. They are a different color when immature
