any body ever had a bow blow up on them

My buddy was pulling his brand new,high speed compound contraption back, got it to full draw and "BLAM"!!! The peep sight acctually flew out and hit my wife in the neck.She didnt need stitch's but it was a pretty bad cut.Kinda scarey and funny at the same time.The top pully had a sharp spot in it and cut the cable in half.Never had any blow up on me yet, nock on wood. Maybe I'll squeek by without that happening. HA!! Jason

Last season I was drawing on a monster black bear at 10 ft when BAM!! The bow jumped out of my hand and the arrow?I have no ideal.Scared the bear more than me.

Had four break the top limbs. Three recurves and one compound.The worst injury was just a good hard whack on the head.I have been very lucky. Ben

How about a 76lb Ancient Spirits Kadiak breaking in half at the top of the site window at full draw! More action than I'll need to see again.

My first and only selfbow (yet!) broke at full draw. It was just a little hickory bow I backed with silk, but it felt like a ball bat bouncing off the top o' my head!

I had a Wing(AMF)Thunderbird blow up when stringing with a stringer back in the mid-70's. Sounded like a gun going off. Really got my attention but no one was hurt.

I had a compound bow blow up after release. Nothing too spectacular. Was kind of strange looking at a riser and lower limb, with cables draped over my arm.

It can happen with any bow and at any time. Personally it has happened to me with a newer high end bow, vintage bow, and my selfbows too.
And if you have not experienced it yet-you will.

A compound blew up one night during league. The teardrop pulled off the end of the cable. Just a scratch on a finger. The arrow ended up in the center of the 10 ring!

My buddy handed me a homemade 70# takedown recurve he just purchased 10 min earlier at Denton's swap meet. I drew it back and KABLOOM! Lawnchairs, archers, and wood chunks went flying in all directions! Turns out the knucklehead who built it used wood screws as limb bolts!
