This Hummingbird Kingfisher 3-PC T/D Longbow has caught my eye.  The bow is 62", 50#@28".  Below are three pics of it.  More to follow soon.

Does that look like stained flat grain Red Elm on the limbs?  I suspect it is veneers over Bamboo cores.

Looks Like it Bill. Matches the riser perfect. Good Luck with her!

It could be Cocobolo Veneers to match the riser wood, it seems like the folks at hummingbird do a lot of that..

Its a Beauty...

Over&Under

Looks a little like flat grain cocobolo to me.  Regardless, that is a fine looking bow for sure!!!

I think it is cocobolo over bamboo. He usually matches the lams to the riser.  Bamboo cores are standard for Ben's Kingfisher. I have a Alpha -Male 3 piece w/ bamboo cores52#. It is a strong shooting bow , with green and grey color is a good looker. Hard to beat the looks of Ben and Linda Graham's bows.
Maybe it is time to shoot what I have on the rack

It is cocobolo riser and limbs. It was mine at one time I believe.

Am I buying it from Gerry?    ;)    :)   David, nothing would surprise me when it comes to your knowledge of bows and who has had them.  I get a lot of kidding about buying and selling so many bows, but Bob Ferrel, Bob Barnes and you I would venture to guess all have quite a lead over me!

If they could only tell the stories of their travels. Actually it's probably better that they can't.    :biglaugh:

Mike,

There's another fella from Asheboro that I hold a fondness for.  His name is Squire Parsons and has written and sung some of my favorite gospel songs, Southern Gospel that is.

I've always admired the Hummingbird bows.  I've seen them at several shoots in the SE, but this is the first T/D I've bought.  I owned a one piece Kingfisher Longbow at one time.  I can't even tell you what it looked like now.  Getting old is for the birds!        :scared:    :knothead:

The MO is in Priority Mail to MI for the Hummingbird Kingfisher Longbow.  The Rose Oak Tomcat Recurve I sold in order to be able to buy the Kingfisher is in Priority Mail to AL.  I should receive the Kingfisher sometime next week.

After receiving the bow and looking at it, I think the veneers on the back side of the limbs is flat grain Cocobolo, but the veneers on the belly side sure looks like Bocote to me.  It, too, is stained to match the riser, but I've never seen Cocobolo with the birdseye appearance of Bocote.

I had the opportunity to shoot a 3-PC T/D Hummingbird longbow last week.  Very nice bow!  Congrats Bill!
