went for a walk this morning and saw where the coyotes have moved in close to the house hunting for rabbits. with a big full moon tonight i'm thinking about hitting the field and doing a little calling. i have permission to hunt this area but it is BOW ONLY as the owner does not like fire arms. i have a home made decoy of turkey feathers, a few antler rabbit distress calls and a bison horn howler. got a good idea for a couple set ups just need a little luck!! i'll keep ya posted.

Ken, they are really breeding now, you should have action.I saw a  Vizsla running loose the other day while working and when I approached it, it ran into the woods.I went in after it and found that it was also being pursued by a large yote.I dont know if the yote wanted  lunch or lovin or both but it wasnt very scared of me.It kept looking at me then the dog and approached for a while.Lucky for it it stopped about 60yards and sat down.Nother few steps and it would of had a GoldDot .45 in it.The dog disappeared and the yote went in the opposite direction.Never caught the dog and have still not located the owner.

Oh man, Ken. Sounds like it'll be a blast. Best of luck, bro...

Wow, its going to be cold. Better keep them calls inside your clothes or you'll get only one toot on 'em.

I saw two running the creek bottom behind the house last night around midnight, i'd be out there too but I have my bow in the works ,getting snakeskin backed and I just finished skinning a beavertail for the handle wrap! I'm sorry I started this project so soon as there is alot of good hunting still to be had!!

I saw one out in a cut corn field this afternoon. With the cold temps you should get some action if they are in your area. Good Luck.

right now the moon is no where near as bright as expected, i'll wait a little while and see what it looks like. if its bright i'm pretty sure i can call one in, getting a shot is another story!

Good luck Ken.

I`m sure you know, but good moonlight to them is like full daylight to us. I made the mistake of not hiding as well at night for years, and it was indeed a mistake.

I have no one who is interested in hunting at night with deep snow and arctic temps, except my kids, and momma says no until they are a bit older.

Again...good luck, I hope you get them in your lap!

Watch out Ken, if it's that cold you might call one in, and he might take that as an invitation to come in out of the cold! 'Course if he curls up around the head of the bed, you can just wear him as a fur hat!   :biglaugh:    :biglaugh:

full moon hunts are terrible for bow range, as everything in the woods can see your movement...

Best of luck, we'll be out tonight but I'm on calling duty.
