What does everyone prefer...three feathers or four on their arrows and what length?  Also, was thinking about switching to pink fletch anyone with thoughts on the pink color?
We do not rise to the occasion.  We fall to our level of training.

3 five inch for me...truflight pink is a very popular color...gateway pink is too pastel.

Hot pink feathers on pink crown dip...or all Chartruese feathers on a flo dip. Can't beat the visibility.

Yeah I was gonna try the pink feathers but I'm not as much man as Fred Eichler.  What do they say about cowboys who are tough enough to wear pink?  I've settled on chartruese barred with a chartruese wrap and a strip of reflective tape.

Night Wing

Three, 5" feathers for me. I like solid chartruese, orange or hot pink. Going to try some barred featheres this year.

Four 4" feathers, two hot pink and neon yellow, on my hunting arrows.  Haven't lost one yet.

4x3" BRIGHT (yep 'that' bright!) pink on a pink wrap with yellow nocks. You can see 'em a mile off!

I have a customer who loves his pink.  Neon Pink cap and cresting.  2 pink 1 barred pink LW shields.  Check out the Pink Gold Tips that I have on my website, and they are ready to go.

All my small game arrows have 4 5" pink parabolics with a 9" white cap wrap.  This gives me an amazingly stable arrow and it is hard to loose in the leaves!!

I've shot 3 fletch since the mid 50's. Tried four fletch last summer and I like it better. Arrows seem to be more stable and group better. With broadheads I get similar results.

3 5 inch chart. on yellow wrap.  (although I am also experimenting with 4 fletch and I'm thinking of giving pink a try....)

Guys,

Those of you who shoot 4 feathers, what angle/degree do you use? I know there are different settings on my jig, dont know what works best?

Paul Mattson

When I 4 fletch, I use the 90deg settings.

hickstick

my jojan only came with a 3/120 & 4/90 socket.

I use 90*
Hickstick, if you want to try the 60/120 4 fletch arrangement (or whatever it is!) you use the normal 120* 3-fletch setting. Fletch up with a cock feather & 1 hen feather, then turn your arrow through 180* (So it's nocked the other way) & re-fletch on the first two settings (If you see what I mean)

Holy moly do those things come with an "off" switch?  It hurts just looking at the picture!

hit or miss

I went with 2 5" pink with a 5" grey cock feather and a grey cap dip this year on my hunting arrows.  Shield cut.

They are not as bright in low light as I had hoped for.  They do really show up with a blue LED flashlight though.  That is, after dark when you are looking for them when you miss.

I wish I had gone with a white cock feather.
