What's the Quietest Recurve You Ever Shot?

The "Quietest Bow" thread got me to thinking.
Is there a recurve out that is as quite as a longbow? Or what is the quietest recurve you have shot?

I have a Blacktail I think is pretty quite, but no where near some of the long bows I've heard(or not heard)shoot next to me or that I've shot myself.

My bow has Bowhush, 1/2 Hush Puppies, 1/2 Cat Whiskers and a cork gasket under the limb pads.
I also shoot 10-12 GPP.

I've had folks stand next to me and asked about the noise my bow makes and they say none but I can hear it.
Time is a great teacher, but unfortunately it kills all its pupils.

The quietest recurve I remember shooting was a Bob Lee belonging to Carl Miller. It must have been 6 or 7 years ago, but I still can't believe how quiet his bow was.

Shawn Leonard

RER Arroyo, it has static limb tips but it is very quiet. Shawn

I have a Morrison ILF with Morrison foam core limbs that is super quiet.  I also think string material is a huge factor in quietness (I like 450+).  Shooting the bow might make it sound louder than if you are off to the side, as well.  My Martin Hunter with a dacron string is very quiet, too.

LoneWolf73

Assenhiemer. But I had put that Bow Hush on the string. Dead Silent!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways-BOW in one hand-ARROWS in the other-Body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming-WOO HOO! WHAT A RIDE!

Whisperstick!  Quieter than my Turkey Creek longbow with the same arrows.  My wife verified my findings and her word is indisputable!
It's not the arrival, it's the journey.

Havent shot many, but the CK Super Falcon was pretty quiet.

Two Arrows

Morrison with Dakota Limbs. I shot it and actually thought that there was something wrong with it because of the lack of normal noise with my other bows.

Sorry, just re-read that this was about recurves.

With that said, I received a RER recurve from a guy in Australia that had to be the quietest recurve I ever owned, and it was fast. Of course, I wish I still owned it.  :knothead:    :banghead:

Assenheimer with rubber catwiskers. I foolishly traded it off.

Whisperstick, I have a Morrison Shawnee with Arapaho limbs that is dang quiet though.

64 inch Bear Kodiak 59er is as quiet as it gets in a recurve.

The two quietest recurves I have shot were both 50s style recurves.  Number one was a 60 inch, 55# St. Joe River and number two is my 58 inch, 53# Fox Breed.
