I was looking at the cabelas wooltimate clothes and wondered if anyone here had used them? I'm mainly concerned with warmth and durability.

I don't have the wooltimate series, but I do have the wool Outfitter Series. I have had them for about 4 or 5 years now (parka and bibs).

Like most Cabela's items I have purchased, they are holding up well to wear and tear. I am really rough on my gear and still no holes, tears or hardware failure.

I have worn these wools in sub-freezing weather and had to becareful to remove layers if I had to move around much (so as not to sweat).

I have wore the parka for half a day in weather down near zero. I wasn't toasty, but I wasn't uncomfortable either.

Well... there ya go. For what it's worth.

I have a pair of Wooltimate pants without the wind shear lining. With out the wind shear lining the wind blows through them. I don't know how effective the wind shear lining would be but if I was going to get another pair I would try the wind shear lining. They are real warm if the wind is not blowing. I have worn them with a light set of long johns cross country skiing at -10 degrees and have not been cold.

The wooltimate with windshear is quality gear.  It kept me warm this year down to around freezing on stand.  I'd say they are very effective and half the cost of the high end stuff.  After a season the pants are showing some wear, nothing terrible. I hike through some steep terrain for about half hour to get on stand. If they wear out in a few years I'll still consider it money well spent. The jacket is great.  I've been layering a second cheaper windshear coat over a base layer under my wooltimate jacket with great success.  I am happy I spent 250 and went this route verses 500+ for the high end stuff.
If your shooting stinks, work with a Form master.  It'll bring back your A game.

I have one of the Cabela's berber fleece pull-overs with windshear. It is by far my favorite jacket. The Outfitter wools I mentioned in my other post has the Dry-plus linning. It makes the stuff a little heavier, but it is even warmer and drier than regular wool.

thanks guys I would love to try the high end stuff, but am financially challenged  :goldtooth:  . I thought the cabelas might be a good compromise.
