My hunting season this year was marked with sorrow early on.My father of 83 years  had a massive stroke on October 25th.and in the hospital 50 miles away for almost a month, we lost him on November 18th.I missed most of the season my family and I had a sorrowful Christmas.I went to the camp New Years day and Sat. morning spotted a small buck not legal in our club then I realized had not put my face camo on so turned away to do that and when I looked back the buck was chasing this doe straight to me and I put one in her heart. My freezer was empty so this will help, now to hunt for a buck at least 6-points but the little buck helped me this weekend.Oh yea Bob Lee Bi-Cent 58" 51@28".Kip

Kip,
Condolences on losing your Dad.
Interesting story about the little buck herding the doe in for your shot.  Great hunting.
Hope things get better for you in the new year.
All the best...
I'm only as good as my first shot.

I lost my Dad on November 18th as well, but it was 1990!  I want you to know that after all these years, I still miss my favorite hunting buddy!  You'll heal...but there will always be an empty spot.

As an aside, I didn't hunt the year he died, but on the anniversary of his passing, I took his hunting knife afield with me and was presented with the biggest buck I have ever taken.  I dressed it with my Dad's knife.

I'm thinking that deer was a gift.

I'm sure dad is proud of you and smiling from the happy hunting grounds, where there's never a season or a bag limit.

Nice shot, by the way!
