PSA III Black Widow, Gold tip 3555 with 100 grain brass inserts and Magnus Stinger head. Complete pass through she ran about 60 yards and I saw her tump over. She was 3.5 years old and had two 1-1/2" long fetuses in her and was bred around Nov. 6th. How do I know? My hunting buddy is a Biologist for the state of Ky and he examines everything. He has a Fetus scale that he laid them on to determine age or date of breeding.

This fetus photo is from an earlier kill of his, the two that were in this doe were three times this size. Another interesting fact is inside the embryonic sack there are some small hard scar tissue pieces that are from previous fawns in the sack. So you can always tell how many fawns a doe has had in the past. She had three of these which means the two embryo's she was carrying this year would have been her 5th and 6th fawns.

Thanks guys, my biologist buddy is very interesting to be around. These fetus's were from a doe he shot on the 28th of Dec. She was bred on Nov 15th or 16th, so they would have been 39 or 40 days along.

Ron, she was broadside and about 10 yards from my tree and I hit her in the right side lung right behind the front leg and mid ways up the body and the arrow came out underneath her left front leg in her armpit area. With that shot and my KME razor sharp Magnus she didn't make it very far. The blood trail was unreal. While walking to her my buddy said "Ray Charles could follow this blood trail". He's not right.

Had a few questions on where the embryonic sack is located. It is located very close to the bladder and can be easily mistaken for it. If you will feel around on it you can actually feel them inside.

Congrats TJ, and good information!  What part of KY are you in?  My bro-in-law is there in Western KY on the Clarks River NWR.

North Central Ky right on the Ohio River. Western Ky is some beautiful country and a sportsman's paradise. I make it down there several times a year.

Next time you're close to Clarks River NWR look up the refuge manager and give him a hard time...  :D
