was wondering if it would be possible to maybe come up with a wool Tradgang hat to sell in the Tradgang store? you know the type i mean that you can pull down over your ears. i know many of us would wear them as the extra warmth during late fall/winter is needed. i would think that they might be right on pat or cheaper to have made then the baseball cap? just an idea for ya.

I'll second that.

This should have been a poll question.

I would love to see a short billed Stormy Crommer Tradgang hat!  My bald spot gets a little cold this time of year:)  But I would settle for a nice wool tradgang hat of any style.

Stormy Kromer has done custom embroidering for us (at work) in past years.  They do a very nice job and reasonable pricing.

Either one I would buy, but would prefer a Kromer.

I like the sound of that! I am looking at a wool hunting cap right now and I cannot shoot with a regular billed cap on forward I have to turn it backwards. The short billed stormy cromer looks good but, I wondered if I could shoot with it forward.  Ben
I would've taken better care of myself,if I'd known I was gonna live this long!

i also love the Kromer but i had suggested the wool as i believe it would be A LOT more cost effective to have made, embroidered and shipped. would be very happy with either but i believe the wool cap would me a much easier way to go.

Great idea ADK...

Terry, I'm in for a couple !

I had the same reservations about the Kromer. Haven't put the bucks in for the experiment. But I KNOW a knit "watch cap" works, though, and isn't so sensitive to whether one is a fat or a pinhead.

I checked out the web site for Stormy Kromer and noticed they have a flex fit hat.  Ordering these would keep from having to stock numerous sizes.  Also there is a contact number for custom embroidering in the FAQ section.

As far as the bill goes, they are soft and don't interfere with my shooting.  Could interfere with others though.

pretty much any bill bothers me but i often wear a fedora and just deal with it. as i said i would be extremly happy with either but as i stated i feel a wool hat would be rather hassel free to make, sell and ship.

I did a search for wool hats.  They are not cheap.  The cheapest was a wool watch cap $19.95 the most expensive $142.00 for chasmere.

I have been to the Stormy Kromer plant in MI, they are expanding there product line. Stormy Kromer makes some high quality caps, with or without bills.  But, they can cost anywhere from $20.00 to $35.00.

I would love a wooly too. Who was involved in the current hats terry? I'll ask a friend a few questions to see what's available. Skippy

I'm in.  My little boy got me a Stormy for X-mas.  It is too big so I am on my way to take it back.  Nice hat.  Was clearance for $19, original $39.

I hunt with a Kromer hat all the time.  You can turn them around just like a ball cap.   :goldtooth:

I like the watchcap idea, if I need a bill I usually put the watchcap over the top of my ball cap.  Once the weather dips down a bit, my fleece watchcap from Cabela's (AKA the "the lucky WINTER hat" not to be confused with the lucky summer ball cap) is on my head from start to finish.

Killy's got a nice lookin' one on that noggin.
