Who shoots with the bow canted vs vertical?

Im still searching for the best way to shoot myself.

I like the canted bow because it lets me look right down the arrow easily.

I like the vertical bow because because I can be consistent with the same for I would use with a sight and my form is better over all.

Some time Ill hopefully figure out whats best for me.

I shoot canted 90% of the time.  However when I am taking a long shot (i.e. Novelty 3d shot)  I tend to hold more vertical.  Its also the only time that I will conciously gap shoot.

Depends on if I'm worrying about the bow getting seen as I'm shooting over the hill.  Sometimes I shoot almost vertical and at other times the bow is nearly horizontal.  I notice that when it's almost horizontal I seem to shoot lower?

Hold the bow whatever way it'll yield the most accuracy with the most versatility, for bowhunting ... which will always prove to be some form of bow cant.

Deer and piggies and bunnies and most other game don't stand still long enuf, nor at the right angle, nor in the best of wide open locations for any bowhunter to always employ that "perfect target form".

Practice for hunting as if yer actually hunting, in the woods, up a tree or stalking the bushes.  Pick out roving targets at good shooting distances that force ya to kneel, twist around, and shoot from many varied positions and body angles.  All this can only make ya lots better at scoring when yer really on the hunt.

It depends on the bow and the situation. If I'm hunting, I don't even think about it, but at least some degree of cant 99% of the time.
Target shooting, I have several recurves that I shoot a bit better verticle....too many variables to make an ABSOLUTE statement.

If I don't shoot with the bow canted to the right, I'll hit to the left! If I shoot with my bow straight up, it partially hides my view of the target.

I have my best luck canted. Shoot two or three fingers under and look down shaft.

Always? Well, I have a lot of dead critters in my freezer that would disagree.   ;)

I actually shoot every bow I shoot both ways when I first get them and figure out which way that bow likes to be shot best. Most bows don't have a preference but some do. My no brand recurve "Fugly" will only shoot groups if shot absolutely vertically. I had a longbow, I can't remember the bowyer right now, that needed a 7 degree cant to give its best.

I cant my bows.
The first book I bought after taking up trad archery was G.Fred Asbell's "Instinctive Shooting". It just felt natural to bend slightly at the waist and cant the bow. So if it ain't broke........

It depends on the situation but most of the time I shoot my bows canted.
