Thought maybe you guys could show off your string colors. I was thinking metallic blue and silver.

Soilarch

Don't have pics...but on my last compound I had a blue and brown string.  Sounds bad, but the guy who was building it for me suggested and shot me a sample photo.   I think that combo would look real good on a trad bow. (Not sure if he was using BCY of Brownells.)

Merry Christmas.

No pictures either, but I have an Orange/Black Dyna 97 on my Longbow

I have always been partial to yellow with red, blue, burgundy..etc.
I have a royal blue and orange on the way, I'm anxious to see how that looks.

I'm pretty bland when it comes to stings. Mine are black and tan.

Hard to beat Black and Red combo.  :)

One of the reasons I use the string colors that I do is that they are good match for my bow:

This is a Blacktail longbow (which are no longer being made). The black in the string matches the ebony riser and the tan matches somewhat with the yew limbs, which are much darker now than when when this picture was taken.

Hmmm I have a ton of combinations.. But I really like the ones I make with 2 colors and a different colored trace in each bundle..  Brown and Gold is pretty cool also in my book.

Bobby Graham built me a string and when he asked what color, I said "well, Wyoming state colors are brown and gold" so he made me a string in those colors with a red thread to match the red stripe in the bow. The bow is osage and hickory so the string is a beautiful match.

I have red, yellow, black and white B50. I've made just about every combination of those.

I bought Mountain Berry and tan D97. I can't afford multiple spools of that, so my strings will be berry and tan for a while I guess.

I like any color string as long as it's black.  :bigsmyl:

I tend to get/make mine in the same shades as my bow as well...Mike

I'm partial to white, tan and black, just like my beagle.   ;)

I like the string to match the wood in the bow...just my personal feelings. If I am putting a string on a bow that has reddish wood, like cocobola, I would use a black and red string. If the bow wood is brownish, like brazilian rosewood, I'd go with a brown and tan string. Just a thought.
