Does anyone own one of these longbows? I saw an ad in a old digest for these bows and then saw some test data on them. They were made in Montana at the time. Thanks Flint

I owned one of Ron's Tamarack Longbows, nice shooter. I sold it to the late Doug Kerr back in the late 80's. Nice workmanship, shot nice, average speed.

Dang Flint, you have a unique talent for figuring out what I have.  It was my first longbow.  I bought it from Grover Turner in 1983.  Very good Hill style bow with a slightly longer riser than most.

Ron was a very good friend of mine and I was around in the early days of his bow making.
It's my opinion that if you can find one of Ron's bows...BUY IT!!

Ron maulding built me a 68" longbow with tonkin bamboo and brazilian rosewood back in the early 80s. I also picked up one of his Tamarack bows within the last several years and resold it last year to a Tradganger.

He is sitll out there just not building bows. He occasionaly was building them for himself or neighborhood kids the last time we corresponded. His wife has a equine website.

Ron was a great guy and bowyer.

When I bought my original bow from Ron I also bought a Hill style leather back quiver. It was the best quality back quiver I have ever seen. Does anyone know who used to make them for Ron?

Had one in the 80's seemed to shoot well compared to my Zebra's. Took a couple deer with it and then one day it folded up right above the handle section. Same thing happened to my first Zebra. Bamboo limbs on both.

Great guys. Rick do you still have it? You need to show me the whole stash that you got in the basement. Guys if you run across some pictures I would like to see them as the ones I saw were black and white and pretty grainy. I may have to put up a WTB in the classifieds and see what comes out of the wood work. Thanks Flint

I'm not positive but for some reason the Schulz's come to mind on that back quiver...I think American Leathers is now where I would look?

Again, not sure...its just a little snippet of something ...some-timers is rough!
