Hey all,  I am going to by a new bear bow the Grizzly any opinions on this or the Kodiak magnum.  Are bear bows still good quality?  Thanks

George D. Stout

They are okay, but you can get an original Grizzly or Kodiak Magnum cheaper and have a nicer bow.  The new ones shoot okay but lack in the refined looks of the old Bears.  I would probably look at the big auction....lots on there to choose from, just buy from someone who have a big positive feedback.

I would suggest the Grizzly over the K-Mag.  Like Greorge said, you can have a nicer looking Grizzly with a bit of Mojo in it for less than a new one and you'll have a better bow to boot.

My Grizzly is a '73.   :D

Mines a 65 and I wouldn't trade it for 3 new ones...

Go classic and get a Grizz with "experiance"..

Have never shot a grizzly but I've heard nothin but good abou them. I've got a 45# Kmag and like it alot - so much in fact that I plan on getting another one (in a heavier #age in the future).

They're both Bears so either would be a good choice.

I have two 1972 Grizzly's I just love them. I'm going to buy a beater(if there is such a thing) just to use for bow fishing.

What the guys above said, you can't go wrong with an older Griz or Kodiack. The newer ones just arn't the same.

Another vote for the older models. Cheaper but better quality. Never shot a Grizzly, but the K-Mags and K-Hunters shoot great.

Like I tell everyon older IS better.

I have a newer Super Kodiak and love the way it shoots.Planning on putting rattle snake skins on the limbs soon.I had a newer Grizzly, didn`t care for the way it felt in the hand when i shot it.I don`t know about the older ones. Most dealers will let you try them out before you buy.Try a variety of bows if you can.

I love the old Bear Kodiak Magnums. I have two of them, (a 1972 and a 1968),  and one Grizzly. I purchased my two Kodiaks off of an on-line auction site. The first one was $140 and the last one was only $67!! They're both 52" and 50# and very nice to shoot.
Here's a doe that I took the other day with one of them. I also use the old bear Razorheads without the bleeder blades.
