Well it may seem early to you but I need to start moving on this and get the ball rolling, its time again for the Raptor Archery , Weitas Creek Outfitters spring bear hunt bow building workshop.
Class and hunt will take place on either the 10th through the 16th of May or the 17th to the 23 depending on what works for guys that want to come.
Eight days of building bows and hunting bears in the Bitteroot mountains of Idaho. We are only taking four guys per week on this great time in a great place. This part of Idaho is a two bear unit with loads of color phase bears as well as some gorgeous black phase with white chest patches.

Needless to say this is a great time to enjoy with fellow bow crafters.

and learn bowbuilding in the morning , hunt bears in the evening for eight days , fully guided in one of the most pristine areas in the northwest

And chasing black bears to boot. If we cant fill the weeks with bow builders we are going to open one of the two weeks to just bear hunters and would love to have fellow Tradgangers along.
You can contact me at Raptor Archery 541-386-4503
for more information.

Here's a good photo of hauling in the wood for the last class, staves are wrapped in plastic to prevent getting wet. Another 30 miles to go to the cabin.

Ted,

As you know my son is working for Idaho F&G in that area. I told him you were hunting there next spring, so he went ahead and spray painted your name on a couple boars...... sounds like a great time, and yes there are plenty of bears in that area...Doug

Another run at the top for the guys just sitting around dreaming of spring. Three feet of snow on the ground here in Hood River and they say another 2 before Friday, cant wait to see the bears eating that early spring grass.
