Nice, Bryce! I really like the contrast of the wood ceiling. I may re-do mine.
The animals aren't too shabby either  :-)

The velvet buck is actually an EHD pickup that a farmer buddy of mine found.  Everything else mounted is a bowkill.

And that's only a small portion of the shed antlers.  I've brought more indoors lately.  I need to actually take some new pictures, because the room is constantly evolving.  I also need to get some more of my classic shotshell boxes on display.  Memory Lane...

Hey Biggie, What is that rug in front of the camo furniture made of? It looks like several hides sewed together. I didn't notice it at first I kept going back to the treadmill. That looks like one of those "Wich one of these things doesn't belong"? assignments my 5 year old gets for homework.

Blackhawk

Here's some pics from my "man land". I agree with the comments about big is better.  I am already out of room, and still have 6 african animals and a whitetail to put up.

Bryce, your room is awesome!

Can anyone guess who made the pheasant stand?

Has anyone looked into raising an existing 8' ceiling rather than a new addition?  I have a nice elk that has to stay in my garage due to lack of height.  Any contractors out there have any advice?

Biggie Hoffman

Greg that is exactly what it is. Several gazelle hides sticthed together. Bought that one. Everything else, (except the bass)  was killed with a longbow or recurve.

It can be none for sure, if you lived in maryland i could put you on some top notch contractors that i use an work with. My only advice is make sure you get a quality contractor if the jobs none right it should be open up an weathered in in short order that takes man power an things being coordinated properly. If not it will turn in to a nightmare

thats a nice beaver chewed log you got there, Lon.

Dont raise the ceiling, just have your elk converted to a pedastal mount. Lots cheaper.

Lon, I love the chewed-on beaver log stand/table.  Never seen anything like it before, but very cool.

A couple pieces of advice I was given before starting my project was to put heavy plywood under the drywall so I could hang heads anywhere instead of looking for studs.  Also the lighter side walls provide a good contrast for game heads and less confusion.  But I also wanted some wood "grain" in the room, hence the knotty cedar on the ceiling and the simulated stuff on the floor.  Also, most mounts are more impressive closer to the floor, so if you want a fair amount of furniture in there, but insist on it being back up against the wall, it really reduces your mounts' attractiveness/impressiveness.  I balked at making my room wider to save one of about six nearby trees.  I now wish I'd cut that one tree (just a cottonwood anyway) down to make the room 5 to 10' wider.  Long and skinny is better than nothing, but square and big is preferable IMHO.

My room would be an embarrasment to show pics of.... just a room in my pole barn that I keep heated and all my "stuff" in.  A few pictures, some bass fishing plaques, some "michigan" racks tacked up, my gun safe, reloading equipment, archery stuff, and a mini fridge to keep the beverages cold.  Sure beats storing my stuff in the house tho'.  Come in from ice fishing, peel off the carharts and hang em up, throw the boots on the boot dryer, crack a cold one, and commence to cleaning crappies.....
I'm jealous guys- I'm raising 3, one in high school now, 2 in jr high, I've got a while to go before finances begin to "free up" allowing me to hunt more out of state.
