I am shooting a 43# Reflex Deflex longbow and wondering who is using these shafts as I want to try them.
I draw 28"
43#
Arrow Length 30"
100 grain inserts
150 grain heads

Im right on the line between 150's and 250's and think Ill get the 150's but wanted to post for suggestions as I do not want to buy a dozen arrows and find out the spine is wrong (ordering from 3 Rivers)

Thanks

Tom

If your bow is not cut real close to center, you may need the 90s.

Definately not the 250's. If you have a way to cut them yourself, then I would not get them cut so you can bare shaft them from full length.

A little length will go a long way in tuning carbons. Moreso than adding wieght IMO.

It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.

I shoot 150's out of my 52# Bruin recurve cut at 30.5" w/50gr. brass inserts and 150 gr points. They shoot great! I had first bought 250's but they ended up way to stiff in spine.

I shoot 150's out of my 52# at 28" Tomahawk with 150 grains up front.  They shoot nice.

I don't agree with that chart at all. I shoot 250s out of 55#@28" recurve and I have to put 225grs up front to get good arrow flight. They are saying I can put 125grs up front with the 250...???? I don't agree!

I shoot 150's w/50gr insert & 145gr head full length,out of a 45# longbow @ 28".

Tom, so many opinions because it depends on a few factors, one big one being how far your bow is cut to center. The only way to be sure is to buy a couple of each shaft, you would like to try, and bareshaft test them. If the chart shows between 150's and 250's test them both. The Carbon Express Heritage shafts are extremely durable and easy to bareshaft tune, you will like them. I shoot the 250's out of my Black Widow PLX (54#@29") and they perform very well. GOOD LUCK

dont go by the charts.....the ce 90 is .530 spine , but only come in a 29" shaft and do not accept the brass inserts

the ce 150 full length with 100 grains brass insert , and 150-200 grain head would be your best bet.

the 250 is going to be way too stiff.

some other options ....would be vapor 2000s from sipsey river...those are closer to .530 spine and accept the brass inserts..

or a lighter arrow like the easton epic 600 .....600 spine with around 175 up front..these would only weigh around 400 grains...the other arrows will be over 500 grains...hope this helps...

the goldtip 35-55 would be another option set up like the ce150..

if carbons are cut short they stiffen up quickly..you're better off shooting a full length arrow and playing with point weight when dealing with low poundage bows....... all of my longbows are in the mid 40s.. and i currently shoot blackhawk vapors with 250 up front, i also shoot easton epic 600s, and i also shoot the ce terminator jrs (which is only a 28" shaft) but a .628 spine

150's.  I shoot 150's out of a 53# recurve with 100 grain insert and 125 grain point.

That chart is for a 125 tip. You say 100 insert with a 150 point, thats 250 not the 125 the chart was set for.
Got to get some shafts and bareshaft. I shoot CX250 out of a 47#@27" drawing 28 1/2 with a 30 1/2 arrow with 175 up front. Any more weight up front and I too weak. Morrison Shawnee carbon foam core limbs.

If your goin to go with one..it will probably be the 150's, I personally go with EFOC and load the front, but then thats me. I'm shooting 150's @46# and have them cut to 29.5" with 175grn up front and they fly like darts.

I have a 46# R/D longbow (not cut all the way to center) that shoots 31" 150's with 125-150 grain heads really well.  Used the chart and got 250s first, they were waaaaaaaay too stiff.

Hi Tom

For whatever it's worth, you can minimize your risk of purchasing shafts that won't work in one of two ways:

1. You can purchase individual CE Heritage shafts (uncut) from "Lancaster Archery". You specify which shaft and what qty.
2. "3Rivers" also sells a "test kit", contains 2 of each: 90's, 150's, 250's, 350's.

Good luck (I'm in a similar boat at the moment myself)!!
