Welcome!

Best thing to do is just jump.
You'll piece it together as you go and a background in compounds will make things much easier.

Wish I had "jumped" a lot sooner.

For hunting to have a future, we must invest ourselves in future hunters.

thanx guys. iv played with trad equipment in the past, was even shown how to make a self bow years ago. id like to relearn how to do that, as i was maybe 10 when i was shown. iv been using a wheel bow for the last couple years, and plan to continue with it for a while, but iv always just enjoyed shooting trad so much more

See if you can go to this post. It's a pretty good read for beginners

Welcome!
Everything you need is right here. I find it hard to believe that there are over eighteen thousand members (and nearly as many minds!) here onsite, which makes this a treasure trove of information. Be sure to check out all the forums, including the Bowyer's Bench. Use the search engine, too. A lot of your questions have likely been asked before.
Not that we aren't happy to ponder them again!   :wavey:
Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.
