First off gents, HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!!!!!!!
I need some help with wooden arrows. I shoot a custom made 47# Martin HUNTER'08, a 48# Bob Lee T/D HUNTER and I have been shooting and hunting with the EASTON XX75 Gamegetter 500 (2016). I get great arrow flight and have taken 5 deer within the last 2 seasons. (arrows weigh close to 515 grains).
I would like to try wooden arrows but don't know the first thing about them.
I want to keep using the 5" feathers, 150 grain WOODSMAN/MAGNUS STINGER 4 BLADE 150 GRAIN). I'll get them custom made at first before I make any attempt in making them myself. I was informed that KUSTOM KING ARCHERY makes good wooden arrows. I checked and it seems that they do. Any opinions or suggestions will help a great deal. When ordering, do you order the arrow by the draw weight of the bow and or the spine of the XX75 GG?
I could use any and all help. I don't want to invest $150.00 and find out I screwded up and bought the wrong arrows. KKA won't take them back once the are cut.

They can help you out. They bought out Cecil & Paula of Rogue River archery. They can set you up with some good POC (Port Orford Cedar) arrows.

Just tell them what you have.

I would call Kustom King on Monday and ask them your questions. I wouldn't order wooden arrows without talking to the arrowmaker. KK has been at it for a goodly amount of time and can draw on a lot of experience to ensure a good match to your setup.

You do not give your draw length, but if your arrows are 28" to the back of the point, and you use modern string material then 65# spine is gonna be about right with that point weight. If longer arrow +5# per inch over 28", shorter arrow -5# per inch less than 28". if B50 string -5#

My arrows are 30.75"s long, from end of nock to insert and my draw is close to 28.5 to 29"s.

Then you are gonna need 75/80 spine for wood arrows or you can go lower spine and build out your side plate.

If Your bow is cut to center a 29" arrow 60/65 spine will work . If bow is not cut to center you will need a weaker spine arrow say 55/60 spine.

Well you didn't say whether or not you were using fastflight material.  That's important since it means you would need to spine stiffer.  Call Kustom King and talk to Tim Cosgrove about your needs...and give him all the information.
Actually, wooden arrows haven't changed much in a hundred years.  You still spine them according to a 26" span to come up with a 28" spine.  Then you should add about five pounds or every inch longer than 28, and subtract same for less than 28".  The biggest factor nowadays is string material.  With dacron, you can easily shoot 55/60...60/65.  Talk to Tim and get his opinion.
