Well after not having a brand new bow for about 12 years, I decided to get me a new bow.  When I was living in MO, I went to a UBM banquet a couple of years ago and had the pleasure of meeting Mike Dunnaway of Wild Horse Creek Bows.  After talking with him I shot one of his bows, it was a Kestrel hybrid longbow.  It was 54" and 57@28.  It was hitting where I was looking and a very fine bow.  After that I told myself I had to get one.

About a month or so ago, when going thru some paperwork after my move up to Alaska, I found the info again and called Mike.  He had just taken a 56" Kestrel off the forms.  It was his first one in that length. He sent me some pics and I knew I had to have it.  So after some convesations with him, we made the deal.

It's 56"  60@28, with waterfall bubinga veneers, sassafras core and an ebony handle material.  With beavertail wrap and strike plate.  Absolutely a gorgeous bow.

I've been shooting it in the apartment, not wanting to search snow banks for the arrows.  Its a hard hitter and shoots where I'm looking.  Last night I was shooting and had at least 3 groupings that would cover a quarter.  Gotta start shooting different bulls on the target face or I will be in the market for new arrows.

Sorry no pics right now.  Only have internet at work and can't access photobucket. I'll try to get some up soon.

If anyone is looking for a hybrid at a reasonable price and great guy to deal with get with Mike.  PM me if you want his contact info.

I've seen and handled them at Three Trails 3d shoot this past spring.  Veeerrryyy nice.  He offered to let me shoot one, but I declined.  Maybe next time.  Mike was very nice guy to talk to also.

Ok finally got around to posting some pics of the new bow and how she shoots.  A little chilly this time of year so I shoot in the house, about 8 yards.

Hey Nick, we missed you at the United Bowhunters of Missouri conference this weekend.  There was a good crowd and lots of stuff to see.  Stay warm up there in Alaska.  BTW, I am scheduled for a Sitka Blacktail Hunt in late Nov./early Dec.  Do you have any tips?

Glad the bow is still shooting where you look.  I am anxious to get some critter pics.

Now then, get your weapons ~ your quiver and bow ~ and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27.3

Only when my buddy does. He hit the target, but right at the top seam.  They have hit hard a couple times and dented it.  Gotta remember to fluff the target so that don't happen.

It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.
