Hairclippers don't work

Bear Heart

I want to take my bowhush silencers down a little since I am shooting a heavier and stiffer arrow now.  Had a brilliant idea.  Use hairclippers and a guard to get the uniform.  Apparently shears were invented for a reason.  That wool is tough.  Had to resort to scissors.  Anyone else try this?

I used scissors, never thought of the shears...apparently that's a good thing.  :biglaugh:

Yet another reason to find some of those old-style "shears" in the antiques stores.  The "hairclippers" that are powered by your hand, like a pair of scissors or garden shears.

Anyone seen or know what I've talking about?

AAACK! You mean you want him to tear the wool out? I remember being attacked by those things as a kid! I don't think they really cut anything; they just grip it and rip it!   :scared:

Seriously, if modern, sharp electric shears won't cut it, those antique torture devices you mentioned certainly won't. My eyes still water just to think of them.

hunt it

I use scissors to trim them to desired length after they are installed and shot a bit.
