I currently shoot an MFX shaft that flies well for me, it 550grains with 150 up front.

I usually dont mess with a good thing but was thinking of trying GRIZZLYSTICS from Alaska bowhunting supply. Id be shooting the alaskans as im pulling about 53#.

Anyone have any experience with these arrows good or bad? I thought id try a half dozen just to see if i liked 'em.

Thanks

Chris,
The Sitkas should shoot good for you.

I have 4 I'll sell you for $35 shipped so you can try them out. I'm shooting a 68lb bow and they are just a "little" underspined for me.
They are 28.5" to BOP with brass inserts, wraps with white hen feathers and a chartreuse cock feather(New condition)
They are virtually indestructible (unless you send one, or 2, into a brick wall, like I did in my basement when I shot them out of my 68lb Robertson)

I shoot 54# @ 28". I just got some Sitkas cut 29 1/4" BOP wit 75 grain inserts and everything from a 145 grain to 300 grain heads flew great..they are a little soft with 300 but still flew well fletched.
Time is a great teacher, but unfortunately it kills all its pupils.

Ive been reading that for bow weights of 50-80 lbs the alaskan is that weight.

im pulling 51 at 28" but my draw is a half inch longer. Read that is approx 5 lbs more per inch of draw past 28, hence the approx 53 lb pull.

Thanks for the help guys

You should get about #3 lbs per inch. Over or under. What arrow you go with also depends on how long you like them cut. My guess is the Alaskan is going to be too stiff unless you leave them long and load them heavy up front. Call Alaska Bowhunting Supply and talk to Garrett,he will get you setup with the right arrow.

I just got 12 custom made Grizzly Woody 400's and put 140 gr two blade Wasps on them and man do they fly well out of my 52# Blacktail. Took a doe last week.
