I've been shooting Cabela's SST220's carbon arrows for a few years now and Cabela's has quit carrying them. I was wondering if anyone is still selling skinny carbons the kind with the outserts. Thanks.   John aka Brokenwing

The only place I've seen the old style carbons with outserts is on E**y anymore, you might look on there.

I found some called "Blue Jackets" a while back on that auction site and they are just like the sst's.  I have since gone to the A.D. Heavies and I like them alot better.

John: I used to shoot them, as well. But when they started to get rare I went to the Axis/Beman slim lines. They are a little pricier but are tougher and much closer tolerances.

Just a heads up on Axis arrow I've been getting them around 50 bucks a doz.  I use to shoot the skinny beemans but these are way stronger!

John I have found nothing new out there that compares well to the SSTs.Except for the few dozen I have stuck back I know shoot other arrows.Trophy Ridge has a new arrow with outserts but it is about the same diameter as axis type shafting and cost more.I don't personally see the benefit over the axis myself however.

I also like the Axis shafts. I have found the 500 spine works great out of my Wes Wallace long bow and my Bear Takedown. Both are 55# at my 28in draw. I use 100 grain inserts and 145 grain tips. I also foot the shafts which adds 17 grains. I like the peneration and the toughness of these shafts.

i shoot axis 500 out of my #48 longbow at my 26 1/2" draw  i cut them to 28" and i use 100grn brass inserts and a 125grn head they are awesome.

I have a dozen new Easton Vector 840's. They are the real skinny ones.I dont have anything but the shafts. They are 28.5" long. I got them in a trade with some other stuff and have no use for them. If you want them let me know your address..Roy
