I had bought a 3rivers pocket hand held sharpener and I havent had any luck getting my zwickey no mercy's even close to kitchen knife sharp even after 30-40 swipes per blade. Maybe I am crazy but I am just looking for a good solid sharpener. What does everyone use?.....Suggestions

I use an ACCUSHARP...simple and well worth it's ten dollar price tag.

Personally Ive not found anything to beat my Lansky, both for double bevel and single bevel heads.

The KME is great but wont allow you to sharpen a single bevel down to 25 degrees, which is a pity.

Second the KME...very user friendly and you can manipulate the bevel degrees.  Give Ron a call.

There are two I would recommend. One is the KME and the other is a little jig called the Arrowhead Jig sold by Razor Edge Systems. Both are similar in that they hold the bh at a consistent angle and I have gotten blades shaving sharp with both. The link for Razor Edge is  http://www.razoredgesystems.com/.

Lansky and a leather strop with jewelers rouge worked into it.

Spycerco's Triangle Sharpmaker is my go-to for broadheads and knives.

My lansky and tri-stone hardly ever get used.  You can find them for about $60 that comes with a DVD and a booklet.

Really want to try the "duckfoot" but can't justify the cost when the Sharpmaker is doing everything I need.

I just use computer paper on a mousepad for a strop.

Grobet mill bastard file, and LIGHT pressure. Burr on, Burr off.  See the article on Dean torges website to this effect.

In this order:

1. Disc/Belt Sander
2. File
3. KME
4. Leather

This is the routine for Grizzlies.  Yes it is a shame the KME doesnt sharpen to the 25 degree angle but that would take forever on an India Stone.  If you have a sander though the 25 degree problem is negated and the KME is back in business.

For any other braodhead Ill use a Smith three in one sharpener and some leather to strop.

KME is the best and easiest sharpener that I've used.

I have a truangle deluxe kit I bought from Back widow. It's for 2 bevel sharpening on 2 blade heads. I really like it. I've only used it on Magnus II 125 grn heads. I tried just for fun to sharpen 125 grn Grizzlies. They are not wide enough to sharpen. The ferule hits on the stones/files. If you go with this get the deluxe kit. Comes with files, coarse, fine, strop and oil. Each piece is really nice. It wouldn't work nearly as well with just 1 or 2 of the items.
